BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 15. The Board of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) has held a meeting, Trend reports.
YAP board members, party members, and other persons attended the event organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.
At the beginning, the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and heroic martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom of Azerbaijan's lands was honored with a minute of silence, and the national anthem of Azerbaijan was played.
Then YAP Deputy Chairman and Head of the Party's Central Office Tahir Budagov informed the participants in detail about the agenda of the meeting. He said Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev has achieved impressive success over the past 20 years.
"The extraordinary presidential election is set for February 7, 2024. Over the last 20 years, Azerbaijan has achieved remarkable achievements and a historic victory under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The continuation of this victory is dependent on the outcome of the next election," Budagov added.
Deputy Chairman of YAP and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmadov noted that the decision on the nomination of Ilham Aliyev's candidacy in the extraordinary presidential election should be taken unanimously.
"The decision made today would affect not only the nomination of the YAPA presidential candidate but also the position of the people of Azerbaijan. The decision to nominate Ilham Aliyev for the special presidential election should be made unanimously," Ahmadov added.
At the event, YAP board members Tahir Mirkishili, Musa Guliyev, Kamal Jafarov, Bahar Muradova, Mubariz Gurbanli and others talked about the work carried out in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
After the speeches, Ilham Aliyev's candidacy was nominated for the extraordinary presidential election to be held on February 7, 2024, and the decision was adopted unanimously.
Then YAP Deputy Chairman - Head of the Party's Central Office Tahir Budagov and Deputy Chairman of the Party Ali Ahmadov were appointed as authorized representatives of YAP in the extraordinary presidential election.
Deputy Head of the Party's Central Office Ahliman Taghiyev was appointed authorized representative on financial issues.
The meeting concluded with a decision on setting up the party's election headquarters, which was also put to vote and approved.
