Monument to Famous Romanian Musician George Enesku Erected in Baku

Today, on October 11, an opening ceremony of the monument to prominent Romanian musician George Enesku has been held in one of the Baku parks. Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Romania`s President Traian Basesku took part in the event, Trend reports.

Addressing the opening ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev reminded that two years ago, when Mr. Basesku was the Mayor of Bucharest City, a monument to late Ex-President Heydar Alieyev was erected in the Romanian capital. After that, the opening of the park named after Heydar Aliyev was held there as well. According to the Head of the Azerbaijani State, all that is evidence of sincere friendly relations between the two countries. In his turn, Mr. Basesku expressed the Romanian party`s satisfaction with the raising of the monument to famous Romanian musician, violinist, composer, and conductor George Enesku. According to him, Azerbaijan and Romania attach significance to development of culture ties between the two countries.
