Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Head of the Department of Caucasian Muslims, has appealed to the journalists who has recently announced a hunger-strike. The Sheikh-ul-Islam urged Editor-in-Chief of Newspaper Azadlig Ganimat Zakheed and other journalists to stop the hunger-strike, Trend reports.

In his appeal, Mr. Pashazadeh said that Azadlig paper took a distinctive and unique place in the history of the Azerbaijani state. He also reminded that this paper became the first Azerbaijani publication that wrote letters connected with January 20, 1990 tragedy to the UN leadership. He evaluated the actions of Mr. Zakheed, whose health has become poor, as an attempt to perform a suicide. Allah disapproves suicide and condemns it. The Holy Koran says that the murdering of the human is equal to the murdering of the whole humanity. Allah has given life to us in order that we shall live. One's life may be only given only if there is a threat to your motherland, and we call it shahid (martyrdom, self-sacrifice) , he said.

He once more urged al the participants of the action to stop it in order not to make their enemies happy. According to him, the above-mentioned may bring joy to the enemy of Azerbaijani people in Armenia. The Person may have ideas, and I understand it. One should struggle for his ideas by means allowed by Allah and State. I believe that you all understand my appeal to all of you and will stop the hunger-strike, he emphasized.
