Azeri Experts Will Participate at European Conference on Action against Trafficking

The Council of Europe will hold its fifth information and awareness raising event in the framework of the Council of Europe Campaign in Athens on 5 and 6 December 2006, Trend reports quoting the Council of Europe. This Conference entitled Action against Trafficking in Human Beings: Prevention, Protection and Prosecution is organised by the Equality Division of the Directorate General of Human Rights in co-operation with the General Secretariat for Gender Equality of the Greek Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralisation, and under the auspices of the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Trafficking in Human Beings of Greece. It will bring together Council of Europe keynote speakers and more than 200 national officials with expertise in human rights and with expertise in criminal and prosecution matters, as well as representatives of relevant national NGOs, from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. They will present and

discuss the main provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and measures and actions against trafficking taken at national level.
