Azadlig Held a Meeting Dedicated to Cancellation of Public Holidays

A round table discussion dedicated to the cancellation of some public holidays has been held by an initiative of opposition political bloc Azadlig in the International Press Centre in Baku on December 22. Trend reports, that Co-Chairpersons of the opposition block Lala Shovkat, Ali Aliyev, Sardar Jaliloghli, as well as representatives of other opposition parties and intellectual people of the country took part in the event

Ali Aliyev, the Chairman of the Citizen and Development Party f the Country, said that the Azerbaijan Parliament recently canceled public holidays - the Independence Day (October 18), the National revival day (November 17) and announced them as workdays. They said it is an ideological war with opposition. Ali Karimli, the Chairman of the Popular People Front of Azerbaijan said that the canceled public holidays marked the place of the Azerbaijan nation in the World history, its struggle for freedom, as well as its glorious last.

Anvar Aliyev, a historian-scientist has put a proposal to found the Museum of the Azerbaijan Statehood, the Museum of Manuscripts, as well as constantly hold propaganda in newspapers concerning the history of the statehood, and hold arrangements on the occasion of the cancelled holidays.
