UK, London, 20 March / corr Trend G.Ahmadova / Azerbaijani Miss of the UK - 2008 was held in one of the restaurnats in the center of London on 19 March.
Eight ladies contested for the title of Azerbaijani Miss. The theme of the yesterday's contest was dancing in national costumes.
Over 50 people participated in the contest. Fakhraddin Gurbanov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK. Also attended the event. The jury included the Ambassador's spouse, a representative of Caspian Khazri club, as well as the chairman of Sara Khatun organization.
Eteri Jafarova, Honorary actor of the Azerbaijan State Dance Band and her counterparts performed national dances.
The contesters performed different national dances, while Sevinge Nabiyeva, Arzu Hajizade and Rushdiye Abbaszade, delighted the jury.
Sevinge Nabiyeva, a winner of the contest, performed Kamala composition.
Many participants in the contest are students of the colleges in London.
Winners of the first and second places received prizes and flowers.
Organizers of the contest are the Azerbaijani Youth Club in London led by Vusal Hamzayev and Sima Baloglanov, as well as Ilham Nagiyev.
