The former head of executive power, found guilty of embezzling state property, was released from the court in Azerbaijan.

Today, the Court for Grave Crimes completed the trial on a criminal case against former head of executive power in Mingechevir Rashidov Suleiman Mustafa oglu.

According to the verdict, Rashidov got four-year-conditional sentence and was released from the courtroom.

The public prosecutor requested to imprison former head of the executive power for nine years.

Until 1997, Rashidov worked as the director of the educational department in Mingachevir. The same year he was appointed head of executive power in Mingechevir. After dismissal of Rashidov in 1998, he was wanted. Rashidov, who was arrested in 2008, was accused of embezzling state property in large amounts. While working at the post of Director of Education Rashidov appropriated a large sum of money allocated by the State for educational institutions.

Rashidov is charged under articles 179.3.2 (misappropriation and embezzlement), 308.2 (abuse of official duties), 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code.
