The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 532 foreigners illegally residing in the country in December.
The Migration Service employees have carried out relevant activities to identify and prevent illegal migration, cases of violation of the rules of temporary and permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service told Trend.
The decision was made to deport 413 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 119 foreigners based on state legislation, the service reported.
As a result of the measures taken in January, 766 foreign nationals were found violating the requirements of administrative law.
Through fines, the residence of 234 people was legalized. Some 38 persons were under 16 years of age, in connection with which they were not made answerable.
Last month, the service received 4,888 appeals from the foreigners and stateless persons in connection with the extension of stay in the country, issuance of a permit for permanent and temporary accommodation, admission to citizenship, restoring and denial of citizenship, as well as the definition of citizenship and refugee status, issuance and extension of individual work permit.
According to the report, the service has reviewed each complaint in accordance with the laws of the country and made the appropriate decision.
