Chairman of International Society Vatan to arrive in Baku

In September, an international conference will be held in Baku for the discussion of the bill On returning of population forcibly expelled from Georgia in 40s of XX century, Ibrahim Burkhanov, the chairman of Azerbaijani society Vatan of Akhiska-Turks, told Trend.

In the Council of Europe, the bill On returning of population forcibly expelled from Georgia in 40s of XX century was made final amendments regarding the repression of Akhiska-Turks expelled from Georgia. The document will be discussed in Georgia.

Burkhanov the document will be submitted to the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy. The previous variants of the document had already been discussed at this institute. We will again return to this issue. Our goal is to protect human rights, Bukharov stressed, adding that a wide discussion of the document will be held at the international conference.

Besides, he pointed out that Suleyman Barbakadze, the chairman of the International Society Vatan, will arrive in Baku in near days. Burkhanov and Barbakadze will jointly leave for Georgia and get familiar with the same issues. International Society Vatan was created in 1980, but started its activity in 1989.
