The Azersun Holding marked the 17th anniversary of Khojali tragedy with attendance of international organizations, members of the parliament and foreign diplomatic corps.
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic called the Khojali tragedy singular crime against humanity in the history. Azersun Holding Public Relations and Social Services Department Head Kazim Babayev said that every Azerbaijanis has to deliver the international community the truth about the Khojali tragedy.
The "International festival films of memory - Khojali" films were shot with the support of Holding, Babayev said.
President of Azersun Holding Abdolbari Goozal and its personnel visited the Ana kharayi monument on Feb. 26.
Armenian troops committed genocide in Khojali city with population of 7,000 on Feb. 26, 1992. There were about 3,000 people in the city during the occupation. Majority of the population had to leave the city due to the four-month siege.
Within hours, over 600 unarmed Azerbaijani citizens were killed. Among them were 106 women and 83 children. About 1,000 people were disabled by shots; 8 families were fully destroyed. A total of 25 children lost both of their parents and 130 children lost one of them. About 1,275 people were taken prisoner. Around 150 people went missing..
