The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) has formed an ad hoc committee to review the causes of a decline in the country's non-oil exports and take measures to support investors.

The Mehr News Agency quoted the TPOI supervisor Babak Afqahi as saying that, "We have set up some subcommittees to study the exportation cases which have been affected by the global economic downturn during the past six months."

"The committee started its activity last week. We hope to find appropriate solutions as soon as possible," he added.

Iran exported 20.8 million tons of non-oil products worth $9.2 billion in the 5-month period ended August 22.

Despite 19.3 percent increase in terms of volume (in comparison to the same period last year), Iran's non-oil exports faced a decrease in value.
