In January-September Azerbaijan imported about 1 million ton of cement and cement clinker, which is 22.3 percent less than the same period last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said. Cement and cement clinker in January-September was imported to the amount of about $49.4 million, which is 1.3 percent less than that of 2009.
Cement clinker in January-September was imported to the amount of 418,300 tons, 17.3 percent less than the last year. Clinker was imported to the amount of about $19.6 million, 21.8 percent more than the last year.
During January-September approximately 659,900 tons of cement were imported to the country, or 25.1 percent less than the same period last year. Cement worth $29.8 million was imported to the country, or 12.2 percent less than in January-September 2009.
In January-September Azerbaijan produced about 1 million ton of cement, which is 3.4 percent less than the same period of last year.
