Kazakhstan hosts panel session “Public perception of the Eurasian integration”
The panel session "Public perception of the Eurasian integration", organized by the Centre of Integration Research of the Eurasian Development Bank and the Public Opinion Research Institute will take place as part of the VII Astana Economic Forum on May 21, 2014.
The session will focus on problems of public and elite perception of integration and cooperation of the CIS member countries in economic, political and sociocultural spheres. The leading experts engaged in studying the CIS integration orientations from Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries are expected to take the floor. One of the focal points is the CIS public and elite support voiced to the Customs Union, Single Economic Space and Eurasian Economic Union currently being formed both in the context of assessment and participation in these integration associations and prospects for accession of new countries.
The session will also consider the results of the Integration Barometer of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), one of the key resident projects of the EDB Integration Research Centre. The project conducts annual opinion poll surveys in 12 counties of the CIS region to reveal public attitude to various aspects of the Eurasian integration and cooperation dynamics.
Experts, researchers of integration processes, heads of large research agencies of Kazakhstan and Russia, scientists from a number of universities, research structures, analytical centers, representatives of state bodies, international organizations, embassies and consulates of countries, accredited in Kazakhstan, will attend the discussions.
The panel session will be held on May 21, 2014 at 17:00 at the Palace of Independence, Hall of Museum (52, Tauelsizdik).
