Car output dropped by 29.4 percent in Kazakhstan in January-Aug. 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015, and stood at 6,175 cars, said the Kazakh Statistics Committee on Sept.16.
Minibus production decreased by 27.2 percent and stood at 91 minibuses during the period.
Truck production in Kazakhstan increased by 18.6 percent and totaled 1.047 trucks in the period.
Meanwhile, in Aug., car output in Kazakhstan increased by 57.8 percent as compared in July to 1,954 cars.
Three large car plants - AZIA AVTO, SaryarkaAvtoProm and Agromashholding - operate in Kazakhstan. These plants manufacture Kia, Chevrolet, Skoda, Hyundai, SsangYong, Peugeot and cars of other brands. Kazakhstan produced 12,450 cars and 1,660 trucks in 2015.
Meanwhile, the demand for new cars continued to decline in Kazakhstan in 2016, according to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business. In July 2016, car sales of the official dealers decreased by 12 percent as compared to June in Kazakhstan.
The sales of official dealers in Kazakhstan dropped by 40.4 percent in 2015 as compared to 2014, and stood at 97,450 cars.
