Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 13
By Demir Azizov– Trend:
The fund of assistance to stabilization of prices in the Uzbek consumer market has been established by the resolution of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On urgent measures for reliable provision of Uzbek population with the main types of socially important foodstuff.”
According to the resolution, the Uzbek Finance Ministry will allocate an equivalent of $100 million to the fund created without the status of legal entity.
The funds will be used to smooth out seasonal and other sharp fluctuations in supply and demand for food products (meat, vegetable oils and animal fats, cereals, flour, potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.) in Uzbekistan.
The funds will be managed by the Uzbek republican commission for monitoring and controlling prices for the main types of socially important food products. The commission will be headed by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
Based on decisions of the republican commission, the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers together with the Ministry of Foreign Trade will be organizing purchases (including import) of the most important food products, which are missing in the domestic market. The products will be sold through special outlets.
