The Uzbek-Chinese joint venture Shaffof Metan Sanoat plans to expand the production of gas cylinders in Kokand, Uzbekistan, in the near future, Uzbek media reported.
In 2018, the JV produced automobile cylinders for high-pressure compressed natural gas, as well as oxygen cylinders worth over 90 billion soums.
The enterprise is currently paying special attention to expanding production volume and range using modern technologies. As of Nov. 1, 2018, the JV's production capacity reached 154,000 pieces per year against 70,000 pieces a year before. Some 120 jobs have been created at the JV.
"Uzbekistan is creating favorable conditions and wide opportunities for business, especially for foreign investors. In the near future, we plan to manufacture components for gas cylinders using only local raw materials. A new project is also being implemented in the Kokand Free Economic Zone," Long Hui, co-founder of the enterprise, head of the trading company Sili Dunli, operating in Urumqi, said.
