Farmers in Iran's Mazandaran province paid $1.73M

Over 73 billion rials (roughly $1.73 million) have been paid to soybean farmers in Iran's Mazandaran province, Executive Director of Iran's 2-nd zone crops and trade services organization Mohammad Jafari said, Trend reports referring to Iranian media.

He noted that Iranian government has paid 78 percent of its debts to the soybean farmers of Mazandaran.

Jafari added that the rest of the debts, 20.058 billion rials (roughly $477,000), will soon be paid via the Keshavarzi Bank of Iran.

He noted that eight soybeans sales points of the province has completed their work, only one center still operates.

Jafari noted that one kilogram of soybeans are bought for 24,694 rials (roughly $0.58).
