Volume of construction in Kazakhstan slightly increases

Volume of construction work and services in Kazakhstan in 2018 amounted to 3.84 trillion tenge, which is 4.1 percent more than in 2017, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.

According to the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry, in the reporting period, the largest work was done in the construction of highways, streets, roads, railways, bridges and tunnels (890.7 billion tenge), engineering structures (639.9 billion tenge), industrial buildings (593 billion tenge), residential buildings (462.1 billion tenge) and facilities for the mining and manufacturing industries (241.7 billion tenge).

In 2018, construction of 41,970 new buildings was completed, including 38,672 residential and 3,298 non-residential. In particular, 82 secondary schools, 101 pre-school organizations, 4 hospitals and 44 polyclinic organizations were commissioned.

Last year, 1.16 million tenge was directed to the housing construction. The main source of housing construction financing was the developers' own funds, the share of which was 78.4 percent.
