According to him, 764,401 tons of products were exported via the terminal during the current year (started March 21, 2018).

Stating that the value of the exported goods reached $559 million, Soleiman Nejad added that the exports for the current year saw a 3.47 percent increase in comparison with the same period last year.

Soleiman Nejad further noted that the exported goods are mainly construction materials, fruits and vegetables, metal and rubber materials, dairy products, various sweets, piping and plumbing fittings and ceramics.

“Transit of goods via this customs point has seen a rise during the current year. Some 373,761 tons of goods worth $1.36 billion have been exported from here,” he stated.

The Tamarchin Border Terminal is located in the Piranshahr County in the southern part of the West Azerbaijan Province of Iran. In recent years, the customs point has turned into one of the main export hubs for Iranian goods.
