Training export companies in Iran is a necessary step, and schools will be created for export companies to this end, said Mohammad Reza Modudi, Head of Iran's Trade Development Organization, Trend reports referring to ILNA.

Companies with $100,000-500,000 worth of exports have been identified, and next year (starting March 21, 2019) some of these companies will be selected for two-year trainings which will be organized.

Modudi said that 40,000-50,000 companies are currently operating in Iran. He further stated that exports of smaller companies amounted to $2 billion, and Iran's $50 billion worth of exports is a very low figure.

"Iran's population, geography and raw material production make up 1.2 percent of that of the world. But its export rate stands at 0.25 percent. These [two figures] do not correlate with one another in any way. This means that we have not been able to represent Iran well," he said.

Modudi added that currently Iran is globally known for its oil and mining industry. However, the country has not been properly represented in the fields of pharmaceuticals, high tech and polymer industry.
