Uzbekistan signs agreements with China for agricultural exports

Within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to China on August 27-28, 2019, a package of bilateral agreements was signed, Trend reports referring to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China.

Among them, in particular, the “Protocol on phytosanitary requirements for the export of melons from Uzbekistan to China” and “The Protocol on the inspection, quarantine, veterinary and sanitary control in relation to the supply of honey from Uzbekistan to China”.

The documents were signed by Uzgoskarantin and the State Veterinary Medicine on the Uzbek side, and by the General Administration of Customs China on the Chinese side.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, in the light of the signed protocol, entrepreneurs are opening up new opportunities for increasing exports to China, and for producers and farmers - for increasing revenues from the supply of their products to the Chinese market.

Moreover, products exported from Uzbekistan to China must meet sanitary and hygienic standards, phytosanitary rules and the requirements provided for in the Protocols. To establish export of their products to the Chinese market, Uzbek manufacturers can contact the Embassy of Uzbekistan or Uzgoskarantin and the State Veterinary Medicine, which, according to the adopted protocols, are called upon to compile suppliers’ lists in accordance with the requirements of China.

China has strict controls on goods imported into the country, providing importers / manufacturers with controlled quarantine access to inspect products.

Work on expanding the range of exported Uzbek goods to China continues.

In the near future, permission is expected to receive for the export of millet, dried hot pepper, dried melon, dried cherries, dried prunes, as well as beef and poultry, in particular chicken legs, read the message.
