LLC Georgian Bay, a bay leaves processing plant equipped with modern technologies, supplies 100 percent of its products to foreign markets, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.
“We export all our products to foreign markets”, said Georgian Bay Director Mamuka Alpaidze.
In his words, the company exports products to international markets, including to such countries as Korea, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China.
"At this stage, the company has no expansion plans of export," Alpaidze added.
According to the director, Georgian Bay employs about 50 persons and processes at least 200 tons of bay leaves per year. The company buys raw materials on domestic market, he said.
Initially, the company invested 1.4 million lari ($490,419) in production, of which co-funding portion made up 577,287 lari ($202,223).
The company is located in the Vani region of Georgia. It is the only ISO 22000 certified company which produces bay leaves in Georgia and offers bay leaves of the highest quality.
