The subsistence level in Georgia increased by 2.2 lari (77 cents) in January 2020 compared to the December 2019, Trend reports citing Georgian National Statistical Service (Geostat).
According to information, in January 2020, the subsistence level of a person of working age was 197 lari ($68.7), while in December 2019 this figure was 194.8 lari ($67.7).
Last month, the subsistence level of a person of working age increased by 18.4 lari ($6.4) compared to January 2019. In particular, in January 2019, this figure was 178.6 lari ($62.3).
Compared to December 2019, in January 2020 the minimum subsistence level for an average family in January increased by 3.6 lari ($1.2) and amounted to 330.4 lari ($118.8).
The National Statistical Office of Georgia calculates the subsistence level based on the minimum consumer basket, which is calculated in accordance with the Norms for determining the composition of the minimum food basket for the subsistence level for nutrients and energy for physiological needs.
