Iran reveals details of exports from Yazd Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23

A total of $1.38 million tons of goods worth $158 million were exported from the Yazd Province (central Iran), during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Chairman of the Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of the Yazd Province, Mohammad Reza Alamdar Yazdi, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The chairman stressed that the goods of Yazd Province were exported to 50 countries, mainly Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the UAE, and Syria.

Alamdar Yazdi added that the exported goods from the province were mainly hydrocarbon products, cable, construction materials, glass, textiles, and steel ingots.

“In addition, 22,500 tons of goods worth $67.2 million were imported to the province during 6 months. This is an increase of 42 percent in terms of volume and 29 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he noted.

The chairman said that the imported goods were mainly raw materials and manufacturing equipment.

"These products were mainly imported from Turkey, China, Italy, the UAE, Spain, and the Netherlands," he said.

As many as 1.09 million tons of goods worth $129 million were exported from Iran's Yazd Province during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020). During the same period, 16,000 tons of goods worth $55 million were imported to Yazd Province.
