Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange revealed

A total of 425,000 tons of goods worth more than 55 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (January 16 through January 21), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

However, 562,000 tons of goods worth more than 61 trillion rials (about $1.45 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week (January 9 through January 14).

According to the report, about 190,000 tons of goods worth about 31.4 trillion rials (about $747 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME in the last week.

"Thus, 187,000 tons of steel, 1,720 tons of aluminum, 700 tons of copper, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 233,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 23.4 trillion rials (about $557 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 68,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 70,400 tons of bitumen, 30,900 tons of polymeric substances, 24,500 tons of chemicals, 34,000 tons of lube cut, 2,260 tons base oil, 1,300 tons of slaps wax, 50 tons of argon, and 1,100 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 1,710 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.

At the same time, 8.5 tons of saffron were sold in the agricultural products section, the report said.
