The trade turnover of enterprises-members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UITU) increased by 5.4 percent from January to May this year compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
During the reporting period, the cash turnover of private enterprises providing services to the population increased by 3.1 percent, and the cash turnover of private enterprises conducting construction and installation work increased by 1 percent.
Also, from January through May 2021, the manufacture of industrial products in the private sector of Turkmenistan increased by 6.6 percent, and agricultural manufacture - by 26 percent.
Over the five months of this year, the number of members of the union increased by 7 percent, reaching 26,200.
In accordance with the "Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025", the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan carry out activities for the introduction of digital technologies.
Thus, private companies engaged in trade and services are expanding the scope of online trade, creating mobile apps, and increasingly using the capabilities of popular Internet platforms for remote sales of manufactured goods.
As part of the programs implemented in the country, in 2020, the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs completed the construction of 44 industrial and social facilities, and a number of production facilities were established.
