Turkmen spinning factory releases annual production data

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 1

By Amina Nazarli - Trend:

Turkmenistan’s Baherden spinning factory in the Akhal region increased its production by 30.5 percent last year, Trend reports referring to Jeyhun News.

The factory manufactured products worth $92.8 million ($26.5 million) in 2021.

Cotton yarns, including yarns No 27/1, No 34/1, and No 51/1, are the company's major goods, that are in high demand abroad.

Founded in 1995, the spinning factory in Baherden is one of the first enterprises in the textile industry in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan produces about one million tons of cotton each year, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile sector.

Turkmenistan presently exports more than 70 percent of its textile products to over 30 nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

The government intends to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of numerous projects in the textile industry by 2025, with the goal of increasing marketable item production by 1.2 times over the next few years.

Significant investments will be made not just to enhance existing capacity, but also to build more than ten new manufacturing facilities based on existing firms that use modern technologies to make environmentally friendly products.
