Iran discloses details of exports from Kurdistan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 17

In general, 785,000 tons of goods worth $358 million were exported from the Kurdistan Province (western Iran), during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through January 20, 2022), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the Kurdistan Province Mohammad Bakhtiar Khaliqi said, Trend reports citing the organization.

The deputy chairman noted that 93 percent of the province's goods were exported to Iraq.

Khaliqi also added that other Iranian provinces exported 932,000 tons of goods worth $446 million through Kurdistan Province’s customs.

“Thus, in total, about 1.72 million tons of goods worth $804 million were exported through the province's customs in 10 months,” he said.

According to Khaliqi, about 2.7 million tons of goods worth $5.8 billion were transited through the Kurdistan Province within 10 months, which is an increase of 71 percent in value and 97 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
