Iran's bunkering sector requires more fueling ships, said the secretary of Iran Bunkering Industry Association Mohammad Abedinejad, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
"Iran has a 5-percent share of bunkering of ships that pass through the Persian Gulf. The Shahid Rajaee and Assaloyeh ports are the major bunkering ports," he said.
"The rate of bunkering fuel is equal to fuel export that has been set by the National Iranian Oil Company, however, the costs of shooting fuel to a vessel is higher, so that reduces profit in bunkering," he indicated.
The bunkering industry can provide other services such as repairing parts of ships and vessels, providing food to ship crew and international agreements, while Iran could improve the country's position as a bunkering hub in the region.
