Iran’s export via Kurdistan province border declines

TEHRAN, Iran, October 25. Iran’s export via the borders of Kurdistan Province has declined during the past two years although the Iranian government seeks to solve the obstacles and increase export, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The country’s export via Kurdistan province borders including Baneh, Sanandaj, Bashmakh and Siranband in the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022) was 845,000 tons valued at $403 million indicating a 37 percent decline in weight and 22 percent reduction in value compared to the last Iranian year(started March 21, 2021).

The statistics show that the province's total export in the first half of the last Iranian year was 1.1 million tons valued at $498 million which had a 37 percent decline in weight and a 35 percent drop in value compared to 2020.

Iran’s export via the Kurdistan borders had significant growth in 2020 reaching 1.7 million tons valued at $734 million indicating a 67 increase in weight and a 19 percent rise in value due to COVID-19 and the rise of transit and export to Iraq via the Bashmakh border.
