Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (ASCSC) has opened a new dry cargo route Baku-Aktau-Baku, the Company reports. The vessel Bastakar Gara Garayev (Po-Po type) left for Kazakh Port of Aktau within the project on opening the permanent route in this direction. This marine route has been envisaged for the transportation of trucks.
The vessel Bastakar Gara Garayev will work in this route. This vessel has a capacity to carry 60 KAMAZ cars or 40 heavy trucks with tents. The voyages will be made as the vessels are loaded.
In the winter of this year, the Company has already realized a pilot project via the route of Baku-Astrakhan-Baku. Opening the route is explained through the difficulties in the transport movement due to bad weather conditions on the roads of Azerbaijan in the northern direction.
