Kazakhstan, Astana/ Trend , corr. K. Konyrova/ Galim Orazbakov, Kazakhstan's Industry and Trade Minister, considers that it is first of all necessary to introduce order on roads and highways to establish fresh fruits and vegetables deliveries from southern regions of the Country, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

"Last year those long-distance truck drivers, who delivered wagons with vitamin production had to talk with customs officers for more than 27 hours. These are the research and studies conducted by specialists of the World bank (WB)," said the Minister speaking during the meeting of the Kazakhstan Government in Astana.

Askar Shakirov, the Chairman of the Customs Committee, said that the banking data were inaccurate and inadequate and required to be made more precise.

According to him, the Customs Service just do al possible to keep contraband flows back via the state borders on those sections where there is a lack of control. According to the Chairman of the Customs Committee, up to 100 tons of "left" (illegal non-registered loads) per day, including drugs and arms are crossed only via "narrow sections" on the Kazakhstan-Uzbek border.

Utejan Borangaziyev, the Chief of Central Customs Control of the Frontier Service of the Country, confirmed that his employees detained over 30 kg of drugs in trucks and wagons with perishable goods in South-Kazakhstan Territory of the Country last year.

Kazakhstan policemen find these menacing goods as well, though by the order o the Kazakhstan Interior Minister, it has been categorically prohibited to Kazakhstan policemen to stop wagons and lorries with vegetable and fruits if their drivers have a talon on passage of control on the State Border.

Karim Masimov, Kazakhstan's Prime-Minister, has ordered to form a staff headed by Industry and Trade Minister Galim Orazbakov to solve this issue. A complex decision is expected to be made by him in two weeks.
