Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office Department for Combating Corruption has revealed corruption in Azerigaz (sale and distribution of gas in Azerbaijan) regional branch, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
A suit has been filed against head of Gas Department of Agjabadi region Elman Gulmaliyev. The financial audit revealed lack of gas meters, false indicators of consumed gas and supplying businesses with gas illegally.
The suit has been filed on article 179.2.3 (misappropriation or embezzlement) and 309.1 (abuse of power) of the Penal Code of Azerbaijan.
