Turkey promises to continue joint projects with Iran despite the sanctions recently imposed by Western countries against the Islamic republic, Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun said today in an interview with the NTV television channel.
Earlier, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said Ankara will support Turkish firms in exporting gasoline to Iran despite the unilateral U.S. sanctions.
Yildiz said Turkey and Iran will continue to implement the joint construction of power plants with a total capacity of 6,000 megawatts.
A planned gas pipeline stretching from Iran to Turkey will also supply the European and Turkish gas markets, the minister said. The project will be operated by the Turkish company SOM Petrol.
