Since the beginning of gas pumping season, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) pumped about 672.34 million cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan, a source at the company SOCAR told Trend on Friday.
There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.
The source noted that around 380.02 million cubic meters from the total volume of injected gas fall on Garadagh, and more than292.3 million cubic meters on Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
Currently the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.86 billion cubic meters. About 972.6 million cubic meters from the total amount of remaining gas fall to Garadagh and 883.9 million cubic meters to Kalmaz.
Currently, daily volume of gas injection into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan is more than 10.3 million cubic meters.
As source in SOCAR told Trend previously the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.18 billion cubic meters after the season of selection. More than 592.66 million cubic meters from the total amount of remaining gas fall to Garadagh and 590.9 million cubic meters to Kalmaz.
Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped at the end of injection season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.
Some 1.92 billion cubic meters of gas have been selected from the underground gas storage facilities last season of selection compared to over two billion this year, due to severe weather conditions, which were observed throughout the country during the winter.
