Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 19 / Trend E. Kosolapova/

Kazakhstan is not planning to expand geography of oil tolling operations, a source in Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry told Trend over phone on Monday.

"We do not plan to hold oil tolling operations in any countries besides China in the near future," a source said.

In February Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev proposed to consider possibility of tolling operations (crude oil processing in another country and its return to the country after processing) in Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, China and at European refineries of Rompetrol Group.

Following this proposal, some laws were amended in Kazakhstan to make tolling operations profitable. According to the amended laws, the oil processed abroad is taxed on the same terms as the oil processed in Kazakhstan.

Last week Senior Expert of department for monitoring of oil and petroleum products of Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry Murat Turdybekov said Kazakhstan started oil tolling operations at the Chinese refineries in the cities of Dushanztsy or Urumqi.
