In January-June 2014, Azerbaijan produced 38,500 tonnes of polyethylene, or 11.8 percent less than in January-June 2013, according to Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report for the first half of 2014.
Between January and June, Azerbaijan produced 23,300 tonnes of propylene, which is 54 percent more than in the same period in 2014, according to the report.
In 2013, the country produced 76,000 tonnes of polyethylene, or 13.9 percent more than in 2012.
There was a decrease in the production of main chemical products in Azerbaijan between January and June 2014, according to the report.

Between January and June, Azerbaijan produced 8,320 tonnes of solid polyethylene pipes, tubes and hoses, which is 33.7 percent less than in January-June 2013.
Also during this period, the country produced 164.5 tonnes of porous polyurethane plates and strips, which is 52.3 percent less than in January-June, 2013.
