Swedish Trelleborg's offshore operation is awarded its largest single order for thermal insulation and corrosion coating services for phase II of the prestigious BP Project, Shah Deniz, contracting directly to BOS Shelf LLC, Trelleborg said.

BOS Shelf company was established by Star Gulf FZCO and SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan), represented in this partnership by the Baku Deep Water Jacket Factory.

The contract is expected to begin in 2015 and run until approximately 2022.

Trelleborg will supply in excess of 1,000 tons of its Vikotherm™ P7 high temperature insulation material to be applied to the flowline structures of the project, over a period of five years.

The contract for development of the Shah Deniz offshore field was signed on June 4, 1996.

The field's reserve is estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas. The shareholders in the contract are: BP, operator (28.8 percent), AzSD (10 percent), SGC Upstream (6.7 percent), Petronas (15.5 percent), Lukoil (10 percent), NIOC (10 percent) and TPAO (19 percent).
