The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved a general technical regulation on requirements for automobile and aviation gasoline, diesel and marine fuel, jet fuel and fuel oil.

Under the newly approved regulation, only clean fuel without impurities can be considered safe. This means that motor gasoline should not contain metal-containing additives (manganese, lead, iron) and water. It is allowed to use a dye (except for green and red color, which are used in aviation gasoline) and labeling substances.

In diesel fuel, the use of metal-containing additives (except antistatic) is not allowed.

In jet fuel, there should be no surfactants and other chemicals in an amount that degrades its properties.

The requirements for marking, transportation and storage of fuel are also reflected in technical regulations.

Identification and determination of conformity of fuel to safety indicators should be carried out by: a manufacturer that provides fuel; certification body - for assessing and confirming the compliance of fuel; the controlling body - to verify the conformity of products in circulation in the country with the requirements of the Technical Regulations.

The requirements of the adopted technical regulations do not apply to fuel supplied under a state defense order or that transited through the country.

The general technical regulations will come into force on May 24, 2018.
