Azerbaijan is among TOP 3 CIS countries for the volume of oil imports from Kazakhstan in January-August 2018, energyprom.kz reported.

The volume of exports of oil and crude oil products from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan rose by 75.73 percent in January-August 2018, as compared to the same period in 2017 and stood at 57,800 tons, according to the report.

This is while Kazakhstan exported 32,900 tons of oil and crude oil products to Azerbaijan in January-August 2017.

Uzbekistan came in first among CIS countries with 152,800 tons of imported oil and crude oil products from Kazakhstan during the reporting period. Kazakhstan’s oil exports to this country rose by 53.68 percent in January-August 2018, as compared to the same period in 2017.

Russia ranked third by importing 51,000 tons of oil and crude oil products from Kazakhstan during the reporting period.

Earlier, Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev told Trend that Kazakhstan is interested in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of oil and oil products to world markets, including through the territory of Azerbaijan.

"In late 2016 Kazakhstan achieved commercial production in the Kashagan field, so Kazakhstan is interested in ensuring uninterrupted delivery of oil and oil products to world markets, including through the territory of Azerbaijan. In case of transshipping Kashagan oil through Azerbaijan the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline is viewed as an alternative route," Mirzagaliyev said.
