Construction of Iran’s Gachsaran Petrochemical Complex has reached 58.5 percent, head of the complex Mansour Safarpour said, Trend reports via ISNA.
He noted that 2,000 people will be employed when the complex is commissioned.
After commissioning, it is possible to produce 1 million tons of ethylene per year and send it to domestic and foreign markets, he added.
The plant’s commissioning will allow supplying fuel to complexes in Borujen, Dehdasht, Mamasani and Kazerun districts of Iran, he said.
He noted that complex will receive 1.25 million tons of fuel per year from the Persian Gulf Bid Boland Gas Refinery via the 90-km long pipeline.
As many as 53,900 cubic meters of methane gas needed by this complex will be supplied via the Iranian gas grid, while 50 megawatts of electricity will be supplied by an energy company in Khuzestan province, he said.
