The last platform of the 14th phase (14D) of the South Pars gas field, which is a joint field of Iran and Qatar, (Qatar calls this field North Dome) has been loaded onto a ship on the territory of the Iran Marine Industrial Company, head of C and D platforms of the 14th phase Reza Garibi said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.

“The 14D platform is the fourth and last platform of the 14th phase,” Garibi added.

Garibi added that after installing this platform and putting it into operation, daily production of natural gas in the 14th phase will reach 56 million cubic meters, including 14.2 million cubic meters on this platform.

"The 14D platform weighs 2,400 tons,” Garibi said. “It will be transported by the FLB 124 vessel and will be installed by using the HL-5000 crane in case of favorable weather conditions."

There are two main and two auxiliary platforms of the 14th phase of the South Pars Gas Field. It is possible to produce 500 million cubic meters of gas from each of these platforms. The platforms 14A (since early May 2019) and 14C (since late May 2019) of this phase each produce 14.2 million cubic meters of gas daily.

The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas (36 trillion extractable).

Presently, 630 million cubic meters of gas may be extracted from Iran's South Pars gas field daily.

After new platforms are commissioned at five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production volume will increase up to 680 million cubic meters a day.
