Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR plans to increase production at Chilov field, Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of the public relations and events department at SOCAR, told Trend.
"SOCAR continues to develop the Chilov field. Currently, 40 wells are operating at the field, and two new wells were drilled last year," Ahmadov said.
According to Ahmadov, at that time, an average of about 173 tons of oil per day were produced at the field.
"This year it is planned to drill two more wells and raise the production level at the field to 222 tons per day," Ibrahim Ahmadov added.
Chilov field is located in the shelf of the Caspian water area, at a depth of 5 to 25 meters. The field has been operated since 1951, mainly by gas lift.
