BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr.25
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia shares steady high-voltage infrastructure with its neighbors and therefore, it can carry out electricity exchange with several countries in a parallel regime, said Ex-Prime Minister, Zurab Noghaideli, a member of El Green energy company’s supervisory board, Trend reports via Georgian media.
"Our geographical location, our capabilities, and the opportunities of our neighbors determine the trans-frontier trade and Georgia’s positive prospects," he said.
According to him, Georgia should employ these opportunities in a correct and positive context as soon as possible.
"Only a few countries own such steady connections. Therefore, we and our neighbors should use these advantages to benefit each other. For instance, Azerbaijan holds the opportunity for the reception of base electricity, much better and much cheaper electricity than Georgia, while we have better peak-hour and summer electricity opportunities," Noghaideli said.
As he noted, Georgia’s energy system should be developed as part of the united energy system of the Caucasus and it should exchange its peak hour and summer excessive electricity for base and winter electricity.
"In this case, our energy system will increase its efficiency”, Noghaideli noted.
