Major importers of Azerbaijan's oil products for 9M2021 disclosed

The volume of exports of Azerbaijan's oil products to 10 countries, which are the main partners in this direction, from January through September 2021 amounted to over 17.345 billion tons for about $8 billion, Trend reports citing the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, during the reporting period, Italy retained the status of the largest importer of oil products in Azerbaijan. The export value of oil products to this country amounted to about $4.324 billion (46.47 percent of the total).

Italy is followed by Spain - more than $552.6 million (5.9 percent), Croatia - about $550 million (5.88 percent), Israel - over $510 million (5.48 percent), India - about $500 million (5.33 percent), Portugal - over $382 million (4.11 percent), Tunisia - over $300 million (3.35 percent), Ukraine - $306.35 million (3.29 percent), UK - $268.29 million (2.88 percent), Germany - $216.128 million (2.32 percent).

It is noted that Azerbaijan in total in 9M2021 exported over 20.281 billion tons of oil, which is 7.1 percent, or about 1.5 million tons less than the same period last year. In value terms, oil exports amounted to over $9.3 billion, which is 23 percent or $2.144 billion more than in 9M2020.

At the same time, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in 9M2021 increased compared to the same period last year by $4.571 billion, or 24.8 percent - from $18.403 billion to $22.974 billion.

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $14.629 billion, which is $4.050 billion (38.2 percent) more than in 9M2020. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 63.68 percent against 57.49 percent a year earlier.

It is reported that Azerbaijan's imports in 9M2021 increased on an annualized basis by $521 million, or 6.65 percent - from $7.823 billion to $8.344 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 36.32 percent against 42.51 percent in the first nine months of 2020.

The foreign trade balance, while remaining positive, increased by 128 percent on an annualized basis, or $3.528 billion - to $6.285 billion.
