Azerbaijan unveils main partners in natural gas export

Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria were Azerbaijan’s main partners in export of natural gas from January through September 2021, Trend reports referring to the report on monetary policy of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

During the reporting period, 41 percent of Azerbaijan's natural gas export accounted for Turkey while 9.5 percent - for Georgia.

The export volume from Azerbaijan increased by 38.3 percent from January through September 2021 while the export volume of non-oil products - by 41.1 percent compared to the same period of last year.

According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $23 billion during the reporting period, of which $ 14.6 billion, or 63.5 percent, accounted for export while $8.3 billion, or 36.5 percent, for import.

The foreign trade balance amounted to $6.3 billion from January through September 2021, which is by 2.3 times more than from January through September 2020.
