Iranian companies sign several contracts for collection of flare gas

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3

Iran's Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company has signed 8 contracts with 14 Iranian companies to collect flare gas from oil fields in the east part of the Karun River in south-western Iran on March 3, 2022, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

According to the contracts, flare gas will be collected from 6 oil fields. In this regard, equipment and related means will be manufactured, purchased and installed. The overall value of the signed contracts is 470 million euro.

The signing ceremony was attended by Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr, the CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Morteza Shah-Mirzaei and CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company Abdolali Ali Asghari.

In 2018, Iran's Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company and National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) signed two contracts worth $1.3 billion for the construction of facilities for the collection of flare gas.

Meanwhile, as a result of the contracts signed on March 3, 2022, the construction of facilities for the collection of flare gas, the purchase and installation of necessary equipment will begin.

In total, about 400 million cubic feet (about 11.3 million cubic meters) of light gas per day will be delivered to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) as a result of contracts for the collection and refining of flare gas.
