BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Iran's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports increased by 15 percent, during the last 7 months of last Iranian year (August 23, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the previous period, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Chegeni told Shana News Agency, Trend reports.

The deputy minister noted that Iran's LPG exports amounted to 2,600 tons for the reporting period.

Chegeni added that the commissioning of Iran's Pars Siraf export port, the improvement of the production line of the remaining units of the South Pars Gas Company's refineries, the commissioning of several units for the collection of gas at refineries, and take steps for finding markets for LPG have led to an increase in exports.

“In recent years, LPG has been pumped into the country's gas network and burned along with natural gas at gas refineries. Since the new government came to power (August 2021), the Iranian Oil Ministry has begun to take steps to prevent the burning of valuable products, including liquefied natural gas (LNG),” he said.

The CEO emphasized that with the commissioning of several gas collection units at the refineries, the volume of LPG burned in the last 7 months of last year decreased by 10 percent compared to the previous period.
