BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. Iran is expected to prevent the burning of flared gas in the country and fully collect it within the next three years (till March 20, 2026), Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Houshang Falahatian said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

Falahatian noted that8.2 million cubic meters of flared gas daily are expected to be collected in the country by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023).

“Meanwhile, Iran plans to added another 18.2 million cubic meters to its flared gas-collecting capacity next Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), additional 17 million cubic meters daily in two years (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), and additional 7 million cubic meters daily in 3 years (March 21, 2025 through March 20, 2026),” he said.

The deputy minister added that at present, several plants for the collection of flared gas are being built in the country .

“One of the important plants in this field is the NGL-3100 plant. There is currently a 78-percent physical progress in construction of the plant. After the launch, daily 5.5 million cubic meters of flared gas will be collected by the plant,” he also pointed out.

According to Falahatian, the other important plant is the NGL-3200 plant There is currently a 94.5 percent physical progress in the construction of this plant. About 6.3 million cubic meters of flared gas daily will be collected by the plant after launch.

Reportedly, about 50 million cubic meters of flared gas burn in Iran daily. Iran is currently collecting more than 20 million cubic meters of flared gas daily.
