BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Petkim petrochemical complex of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye broke the net profit record of its 58-year history with 6.5 billion Turkish liras (over $334 million) at the end of 2022, Anar Mammadov, Petkim general manager, told Haberturk, Trend reports.
"In 2022, we increased our sales by 70 percent compared to 2021 to 49 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion), while bringing our cash assets to 13 billion liras ($669 million). We exported $899 million worth products to 78 countries. Petkim's strong cash position, credibility and effective planning methods, competent human resources were the drivers of this growth,” he explained.
Petkim is the first and the sole integrated petrochemical facility in Türkiye. It is the largest exporter in the Aegean region. Petkim’s production capacity is 3.6 million tons per year. The petrochemical complex produces around 60 different types of products and exports to 78 countries. The complex meets about 20 percent of Türkiye’s demand for petrochemical products.
